DESCRIPTION:This event will be start at the Fox and Goose Pub\, Blandford Road\, Coombe Bissett\, SP5 4LE.  The event will start with coffee at the pub at 10am with a departure for the drive at 10.45am.  The drive details are as follows: \n\nAt the Fox and Goose\, reset your mileage trip.  There is a community speed camera run by the locals at Coombe Bissett so beware!!!\nFrom the pub car park turn right.  300 yards turn left signed Stratford Tony.\nPassing the entrance to Gurston Down Hill climb circuit\, then at 6.1 miles turn right signed Fovant.\n8.5 miles T junction turn right onto A30 towards Fovant.  Through Fovant are two viewing lay-bys\, one on the left the other opposite.  The military cap badges are not at their best and are awaiting refurbishment but still are worth stopping to view.  To see their history check out the website https://fovantbadges.com.\nCarry on the A30 and through the village of Wilton.  At the large traffic island turn right onto the A36 signed Salisbury.\nAt the traffic lights turn right towards Bournemouth/ Ringwood.\nIn about half a mile turn right towards Salisbury Race Course ( the turning is on a sharp left hand bend). Drive past the Race Course to a T junction then turn left.\nAt the next T junction turn right and The Fox and Goose is on your left.\n\nMartin Hockey has organised the drive and will issue copies of the driving directions on the day.  The drive is about 20 miles and will take approximately 1 hour. \n

DESCRIPTION:A second Wessex Technical Evening will take place at the Sir Walter Tyrrell Pub in Brook (near Lyndhurst) on Wednesday 1st February\, starting at 7pm.  It will replace the February Bournemouth club night.  If you are planning to have a meal at the pub\, please aim to arrive at about 6pm as we want to conclude all meals before the start of the technical presentations at 7pm.  This was a very enjoyable and educational evening in 2022 with expert speakers and a valuable question and answer session after the presentations. \nFor the 2023 evening we are fortunate to have the following two expert speakers:- \n\nColin Ware\, manager of Kustom Kolors\, Christchurch (website) – expert painting and bodywork refinishers.\nJames Robinson\, manager of Bromspec Motorworks\, Lopcombe (website) – experts in all BMW and Mini mechanical work.\n\nBoth Colin and James are very well known to our members and have looked after many BMWCC Wessex Region cars.  It is very kind of them to give up their time to speak to us so please show your support for what will be an excellent evening.

DESCRIPTION:We know that many of you have signed up for the Wessex Region Christmas Dinner on Wednesday 7th December\, 7 for 7.30pm\, at the Tyrrells Ford Country Inn.  The menu is now available and is shown below.  Please contact Eric Thompson\, if you haven’t already\, and are planning to attend. \nThe hotel has asked us to pre-select food orders.  Please contact them directly on 01425 672646 with your food orders from the menu and pay them directly prior to the evening.  The three-course menu is £32 but if you want to order a smaller meal you can do so with the following costs: \nStarters – £6.50\,  Mains – £16\,  Desserts – £7\,  Coffees – £2.50.  The meal is £1 cheaper than it was last year and there are not many costs that are moving in this direction at the moment !!!

DESCRIPTION:From a members’ vote\, it has been decided that the Beaulieu Marina BBQ on Wednesday 1st June will be the Wessex 70th Anniversary Party to celebrate BMWCC’s birthday.  It is a beautiful location with a lovely view over the Beaulieu River and the following day is a public holiday\, so you have no excuse not to get out your BMW or Alpina and join us for what should be an excellent evening.  We are planning some special festivities\, including a display of cars through the generations.  We currently have over 350 registered members of Wessex Region\, so let’s have a record turnout. \nThe cost will be £6/head\, payable on the night\, and will include salads\, desserts and drinks (beer\, wine and non-alcoholic).  All we ask is that you bring your own food for cooking on the BBQ grills provided and cook it yourself.  So that we know how many people we are catering for\, please confirm your attendance to Eric Thompson (contact details below).

DESCRIPTION:This event is being staged in memory of our good friend Ray Powell\, who sadly passed away over 2 years ago.  The event has been delayed because of COVID restrictions.  Ray was very passionate about steam engines and therefore it is fitting for us to make a trip on the Swanage Steam Railway in his honour. \nThe day will start at 9am at The Pure Drop pub\, Ferndown\, departing at 9.45am for the station at Norden (by Corfe Castle).  We are planning to catch the train at 10.40am\, arriving at Swanage at 11.02am.  We will then spend some time in Swanage (a visit to the pier is recommended – a favourite of Ray’s)\, where a fish and chip lunch can be bought\, before catching the train back to Norden at 3pm.  We will be back at Norden at 3.22pm\, when the day will end\, although there may be some candidates for a cream tea nearby??? \nThe cost of the train is £17 return per person but if we get a group of 15 or more signed up and pay in advance this reduces to £12.  Please confirm your willingness to attend ASAP to Eric Thompson so that we can take advantage of the reduced fare.
