It has to be Brands Hatch! \nThe 15th Masters Historic Festival is back to its usual end of May date for 2021\, on the historic circuit of Brands Hatch. SUMMARY:Kielder Picnic
DESCRIPTION:On 23 May we are having our first chance to meet up since last August on the Kielder Picnic in rural Northumberland. We will meet at 10:00 for a 10:30 departure. The run will start at 10:30am and participants should aim to be at the gathering point at 10:00. The run will then follow scenic roads to Kielder. At Kielder Water we will stop at one of the large car parks for a picnic. There are large lakeside grass areas so in addition to bringing your own food and drinks please bring along any picnic blankets\, chairs\, sun shades etc that you might need. After the picnic members are free to leave as/when and make your own way home. The detailed instructions will be emailed to all North East members a day or two beforehand.

And a truly gifted driver to generate a championship title. \nThe guests for our next BM-Wednesdays virtual event have all proved their mettle and taken BTCC championship victories behind the wheel of BMWs. Frank Sytner\, Tim Harvey and Colin Turkington will be discussing everything from the BTCC’s past\, present and future\, winning in BMW touring cars and if any of that racing excellence translates into its road cars.  \nThe trio’s racing careers have overlapped\, as Harvey raced against Sytner in the 80s and 90s\, then competed against Turkington in 2002. The event will provide a unique experience to hear just how the sport has changed over the decades from the people who have been at the heart of it for nearly 40 years. With many decades of experience between them\, Sytner\, Harvery and Turkington can accurately chart just how the cars have changed\, how the championship has developed and how the rivalries have flourished.  \nWhile that will undoubtedly be fascinating\, it’s inevitable there will be some honest and humorous stories to accompany that insight. DESCRIPTION:It is with much regret that unfortunately we will be cancelling this event as once again we are struck with COVID restrictions. \nAfter much deliberation we feel that the uncertainty of whether restrictions will be lifted does not allow us enough time to prepare for this event. We also do not wish to committ to any further costs for an event that may or may not happen or have poor attendance due to travel restrictions. It is very difficult and challenging for our committee to get involved with the organisational elements required to hold these events with the current lockdown restrictions in place. We take extreme pride in the events we organise and without the great team of volunteers who give up their time very generously they would not be able to go ahead. SUMMARY:North East Region Virtual Monthly Breakfast Meet
DESCRIPTION:As we are still in lockdown we will again have a virtual monthly breakfast meeting on Sunday 14th February at 10:00-11:00am. As we will not have access to the Black Horse’s choice of refreshments please bring your own breakfast. I also encourage you to take part from your BMW on your drive or garage if you can. \nWe will be running Car Of The Month again. This month the theme is Roadtrip – share a photo of your BMW on a roadtrip. Mike of The Polishing Company will choose the car based on pictures you share during the meeting (or send me pictures in advance of you prefer). Don’t be disappointed though if your prize is just a photo of a Goodie Bag ! We will also have a video tour of a unique BMW in the region\, and a quiz. \nTo avoid Zoombombers the link will be sent out to North East members of the BMW Car Club GB via an email from the club office a few days before the meeting. DESCRIPTION:As we are now in Tier 3 we will again have a virtual monthly breakfast meeting on the second Sunday of the month at 10:00-11:00am. We will use the Zoom platform. You do not need an account to participate\, but may need to install an app prior to joining. You can participate via laptop\, phone or tablet\, or just dial in using a landline. To avoid Zoombombers the link will be sent out to North East members of the BMW Car Club GB via an email from the club office a few days before the meeting.
