DESCRIPTION:For 2025 Autofahrt will join the the Isle of Man Festival of Motoring from the 17th to the 21st of September 2025. Autofahrt Manx is now available for booking to all BMW Car Club GB members. \nThe Isle of Man is a “must do” destination for all driving enthusiasts. There are some amazing drives on the Island\, with superb\, scenic sweeping bends and exciting stretches of tarmac. The famous TT circuit is driveable in either direction\, but most will take the traditional TT clockwise direction. The sections\, corners and mile markers have evocative names; Bray Hill\, Ballacraine\, Alpine Cottage\, Ramsey Hairpin\, The Bungalow\, Windy Corner and so on.  ​Where else would you see kerb-stones painted in circuit apex fashion\, black and white stripes\, in sleepy towns and villages? The road network is extensive and outside of Douglas there is very little congestion and some of the most popular drives include: Druidale\,  the route heads up the Ballaugh Glen Road past the campsite towards Ravensdale. Once in Ravensdale\, you’ll then need to take the signposted left-hand turn towards Druidale. Port Erin to Peel Coastal Road\, The West Baldwin Valley Road\, The Tholt-y-Will Road from Sulby Glen to the Bunglalow and last but not least\, the Sloc Mountain Road (A36). The theme for Isle of Man Festival of Motoring in 2025 is The Isle of Man Goes Topless. DESCRIPTION:We are attending Sports Cars In The Park again this year on Sunday 07 Sep. The show will be held at Newby Hall and is one of the largest meets in the area attracting a fabulous range of exotic sports cars and BMWs to admire. There is also the option to visit Newby Hall itself\, 25 acres of award winning\, an enchanting woodland walk and a miniature railway. Younger visitors will also enjoy the exciting adventure gardens. There will also be a number of related stalls and catering on the day. Display cars can arrive from 7:00 until 12:00. Tickets for driver and displaying car are purchased from the SCITP website\, with each additional occupant costing extra with a discount for children. Display tickets are only sold in advance. To get your tickets go to www.sportscarsinthepark.co.uk\, login and then click on ‘Tickets’. Remember to select ‘BMW Car Club GB’ as part of the process\, or you may end up parked amongst Audis and Volkswagens. DESCRIPTION:Our next monthly breakfast meeting will be on Sunday 10th August 2025. We meet from 10.00am to 11.30am at Black Horse Beamish\, Red Row\, Beamish\, Co. Durham\, DH9 0RW. Please be there for 10am prompt if you want to join us for breakfast at discounted club rates. Please help us by clicking ‘going’ on the Facebook event so that we can pass on numbers to the pub. Arrive early if you want a good parking spot ! \nThe Black Horse Beamish is just a short distance off the A1 so is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. We usually have a good variety of Alpinas\, BMWs and Modern Minis – classics\, moderns\, daily drivers and a scattering of Ms. Non-BMWs are also OK! Look for the big group somewhere in the pub building\, or hanging around the cars down by the Car Barn on a sunny day. This meeting is open to members and non-members.
