DESCRIPTION:Itinerary:  \nHome \n \nWhen :  21st August 2022 can be two days if members wish \nMeet: Fatty Arbuckles Downham Market for Breakfast. at 10am or sooner (for those living over 40miles from Downham Mkt might be good idea to find overnight stay nearby). \nStone Cross\, A10\nBexwell\nDownham Market\nNorfolk\nPE38 0AD \nThen onto Flixton via  a quaint village in North Suffolk and home of the Norfolk and Suffolk Museum which we hope to visit : https://www.aviationmuseum.net/index.html Note from Arbuckles to Frixton is about 1 hour but its through idyllic countryside. Local pubs available for refreshments but we will stop if needs to stretch legs. Early Directions to Flixton  via A134\, take the A1066  to Thetford which leads to the A143\, then take the B1062 into Flixton. Peter Collinson will advise Sat Code on the day. \nAfter Flixton visit we depart for: \nBurgh Castle use Sat Nav Postcode : NR31 9QB  –  we drive to Burgh Castle nr Gt Yarmouth its a 33minutes drive. \nLatitude : 52.583995 Longtitude : 1.65503 \nBurgh Castle is an English Heritage site (https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/burgh-castle/directions/) and has a museum on site. Burgh Castle was 3rd Century Roman Cavalry Fort with impressive still standing fortifications although the south facing wall has collapsed into the Marshes. The site  overlooks the Berney Marshes and the Rivers Waveney and Yare\, even a philistine like me acknowledges its an atmospheric site\, with the Marshes and cries of the Sea Fowl. DESCRIPTION:Well\, so far so good insofar that several of us have enjoyed two pub nights at The Jolly Farmer.  For our first meet we had use of the Skittle function room\, which worked well.  At our last meet earlier in the month\, we were offered use of the bar area\, adjacent to the fireplace\, which those present agreed was ideal.  Perhaps being nearer to the bar and car park helped! \nThe second Tuesday of the month has been decided as our regular meet for the foreseeable future.

DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday 03 August we will meet up with our colleagues from the Spanish E21/E30 club as their annual expedition comes to the UK. We will meet at The Badger\, Street Houses\, Ponteland Rd\, Ponteland\, Newcastle upon Tyne\, NE20 9BT at 17:00 for a quick bite to eat. Around 18:00 we will escort them up the A696 and the A68 to Carter Bar on the England/Scotland border\, where there is parking and great views of the hills. After a brief stop we will say goodbye to them as they continue on their way to Edinburgh. E21’s and E30’s are preferred\, however all BMWs are welcome to join.

SUMMARY:Test Your Eyesight Run – Sunday 24th July 2022
DESCRIPTION:We will meet at Premier Inn car park (W Auckland Rd\, Bishop Auckland\, DL14 9AP) at 10.30am for a 10.45am departure. We will then take a scenic route over the tops whilst enjoying the views before arriving at our stop to enjoy a Sunday lunch made with fine local produce at The Moorcock Inn\, Hill Top\, Eggleston. We then move on to visit The Carrosserie Company for a short tour of the classic car restoration business and chat with owner Neil. Then we head down towards the centre of Barnard Castle to test your eyesight on this leg of the journey before arriving at our final destination of Bowes Museum to park up just inside the gates for photos before heading into the museum for a look around if you wish. DESCRIPTION:Last month saw the return of Wessex Region to The Jolly Farmer at Blacknest\, near Alton\, where we had a great turnout of 12 cars. After the positive feedback\, we are sufficiently encouraged to continue this as a regular Wessex event\, which we will hold on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Our next one is Tuesday 12th July from 7.00pm onwards. One point to note is that the last food order is 8.00pm. We have exclusive use of the skittle alley function room where we can eat\, drink\, converse and put the world to rights.

DESCRIPTION:Our next monthly breakfast meeting will be on Sunday 10th July 2022. We meet from 10.00am to 11.30am at Black Horse Beamish\, Red Row\, Beamish\, Co. Durham\, DH9 0RW. Please be there for 10am prompt if you want to join the buffet breakfast. The Black Horse Beamish is just a short distance off the A1 so is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. We usually have a good variety of Alpinas and BMWs – classics\, moderns\, daily drivers and a scattering of Ms. Non-BMWs are also OK! Look for the big group somewhere in the pub building\, or hanging around the cars down by the Car Barn on a sunny day. This meeting is open to members and non-members.

Turn right in Great Staughton onto the B645. Kimbolton is three miles beyond Great Staughton. From the south on the A1: Leave the A1 westbound on the B645 just north of St Neots signposted Rushden. Once on the B645\, Kimbolton is clearly signed and is reached after approximately six miles. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom the north on the M1 via the A14: Leave the M1 at Junction 19 and join the A14 travelling east bypassing Kettering and Thrapston. At the junction with the B660\, signposted Catworth and Bedford\, turn south. Continue for four miles through Catworth. The B660 meets the B645 in Kimbolton. At the T-junction turn right for the Preparatory School and left for the Senior School.  From the south on the M1 via the A45: Leave the M1 at Junction 15 and join the A45 bypassing Northampton\, Wellingborough and Rushden. At Rushden follow the signs for Bedford on the A6. After travelling one mile on the A6 towards Bedford turn left on the B645 signposted Kimbolton.
