DESCRIPTION:In September it is planned to hold a regional “Scatter Hunt”. and I need to gauge interest before going too deep with the implementation\nA combination of our well like treasure hunt and the Navigation Scatter Rallies held back in the 90’s. This is new style event tailored to cope with modern technology and take advantage of our breathtaking county\nThe basic task is to solve a series of clues provided prior to the day of the event which will allow you to plot points on a map of Northumberland. You then need to plan a route to visit these clue points and find the answers\nBecause of the scale of the county it will be impossible to visit every clue site in a day (unless you are really dedicated) so you must select those which you can solve and think will obtain the most points\nThe event is ideally suited to teams of members as this will increase the clue solving brain power and allow people to share a car and fuel and even the driving if required.\nThis gives everyone the opportunity to have fun and also see the scenery\nA Trophy will be awarded for the team with the most points and awards will be added accordingly for various categories\nThe hard core competitors amongst you may wish to set off bright and early and do a full day of treasure hunting\, but the plan is to offer less arduous routes for those wishing to do just half a day .\nIn theory it will even be possible to do the whole thing from the comfort of your lounge although you won’t get points for taking photos at the locations\nThe event will be open to all Club Members so teams from other regions are welcome to apply\nIn order to finalise the plans and start making up the Scatter Hunt instruction packs. The following text is taken verbatim from their communications: \n\n \nSidmouth Chamber of Commerce\nin partnership with the\nCrash Box & Classic Car Club of Devon\npresent \nTHE SIDMOUTH CLASSIC CAR SHOW \non Saturday 23th September 2023 at 11am\nat The Sidmouth Cricket Club\, Fortfield Terrace\, Sidmouth EX10 8NT \n\n\nI am pleased to announce that subject to good weather we would like to invite you to display your car at the popular Sidmouth Classic Car Show again this year. \nWe hope to build on the success of the show last year\, as it was our best show yet. \nWe try to provide a garden party atmosphere and we are very lucky to have with us the lovely Liberty Sisters\, the 1940’s harmony singing trio and The City Steam Jazz Band who will be performing throughout the day. \nOnce again\, because of Covid\, we will be just displaying individual cars and hope everyone will use common sense to keep everyone safe! This means we will only be able to display about 300 cars. DESCRIPTION:This event will be start at the Fox and Goose Pub\, Blandford Road\, Coombe Bissett\, SP5 4LE.  The event will start with coffee at the pub at 10am with a departure for the drive at 10.45am.  The drive details are as follows: \n\nAt the Fox and Goose\, reset your mileage trip.  There is a community speed camera run by the locals at Coombe Bissett so beware!!!\nFrom the pub car park turn right.  300 yards turn left signed Stratford Tony.\nPassing the entrance to Gurston Down Hill climb circuit\, then at 6.1 miles turn right signed Fovant.\n8.5 miles T junction turn right onto A30 towards Fovant.  Through Fovant are two viewing lay-bys\, one on the left the other opposite.  The military cap badges are not at their best and are awaiting refurbishment but still are worth stopping to view.  To see their history check out the website https://fovantbadges.com.\nCarry on the A30 and through the village of Wilton.  At the large traffic island turn right onto the A36 signed Salisbury.\nAt the traffic lights turn right towards Bournemouth/ Ringwood.\nIn about half a mile turn right towards Salisbury Race Course ( the turning is on a sharp left hand bend). Drive past the Race Course to a T junction then turn left.\nAt the next T junction turn right and The Fox and Goose is on your left.\n\nMartin Hockey has organised the drive and will issue copies of the driving directions on the day.  The drive is about 20 miles and will take approximately 1 hour. \n

DESCRIPTION:Our next monthly breakfast meeting will be on Sunday 10th September 2023. We meet from 10.00am to 11.30am at Black Horse Beamish\, Red Row\, Beamish\, Co. Durham\, DH9 0RW. Please be there for 10am prompt if you want to join the buffet breakfast. The Black Horse Beamish is just a short distance off the A1 so is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. We usually have a good variety of Alpinas\, BMWs and Modern Minis – classics\, moderns\, daily drivers and a scattering of Ms. Non-BMWs are also OK! Look for the big group somewhere in the pub building\, or hanging around the cars down by the Car Barn on a sunny day. This meeting is open to members and non-members.

There will be over a hundred cars exhibited in the city centre – locations include Palace Green\, Durham Market Place\, Millennium Place and Framwellgate Bridge. It’s a great day out in the heart of Durham – with a small street food market in the Market Place\, if you fancy refreshments. Last year’s show was a hit and a fantastic relaunch of this great event after the hiatus.As in previous years we anticipate around 150 classic cars\, motorcycles\, tractors and more to view and admire. There will be a prime selection of food stalls and vendors. All set in the idyllic village of Aveton Gifford. The event features an impressive range of static car displays\, showcasing some of the worlds most sought-after and high-performance vehicles. Whether you’re a petrolhead or someone who loves beautiful cars\, Smiles for Miles is a great family day out which will help create much-needed funding for a fantastic charity\, JPC Community Farm\, which supports Children and Adults with Special Needs across the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire Area. \nDisplay cars and drivers get free access rather than the usual £15 entry fee – you just need to be on my list. Extra passengers have to buy tickets on the event website at £7:50. Display cars must be on site by 8:30 and stay until 16:30. DESCRIPTION:Our next monthly breakfast meeting will be on Sunday 13th August 2023. We meet from 10.00am to 11.30am at Black Horse Beamish\, Red Row\, Beamish\, Co. Durham\, DH9 0RW. Please be there for 10am prompt if you want to join the buffet breakfast. The Black Horse Beamish is just a short distance off the A1 so is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. We usually have a good variety of Alpinas\, BMWs and Modern Minis – classics\, moderns\, daily drivers and a scattering of Ms. Non-BMWs are also OK! Look for the big group somewhere in the pub building\, or hanging around the cars down by the Car Barn on a sunny day. This meeting is open to members and non-members.

SUMMARY:Exmouth Classic Car Show - Sunday 13th August
DESCRIPTION:The annual Exmouth Classic Vehicle Show will be be returning on Sunday 13th August 2023 following a successful gathering last year which saw in excess of 200 vehicles on display and £1\,235 raised through voluntary donations for the charities Devon Air Ambulance and Lucy’s Ambulance. \nOrganised by the Morris Minor Owners Club Devon Branch and the Ford Anglia 105E Owners Club\, this annual event will take place from 10am until 4PM. As in previous years\, there is no entry fee to pay and no need to book in. We hope to attend as a Club and will be reserving a pitch for a display. \nThe event will also be looking to collect for local charity in the official collecting buckets and they also hope to have in excess of 200 vehicles on display.

SUMMARY:Riviera Classic Car Show
DESCRIPTION:A popular annual show which takes place on the north section of Paignton Green\, alongside the beach and Paignton Pier. Entries are filling up rapidly. As mentioned previously on our WhatsApp and facebook pages\, we are not going to be attending as a club\, but individual members can book and make their arrangements to park together. \nINFORMATION FROM THE WEBSITE: \n​TOWC organises the Riviera Classic Car Show in late July every year on the first Sunday of the Paignton Festival\, which lasts for 9 days.  The Festival was formerly called Torbay Carnival and has been held since 1908. It was given its new name in 2016 and still includes the Torbay Carnival procession on the Wednesday evening. The show is an important part of the Festival week and was first held by us in 1994. It raises funds for the Festival\, which are used entirely to support local charities and community organisations. In 2022 we were proud to donate £7\,000\, bringing the running total raised to well over £66\,000. Amazingly\, almost half of this has been since 2016. \nWith the current layout the show is more a part of the Festival than ever.  The display of fabulous vehicles is complemented by stage entertainment through the day\, food outlets\, a craft marquee and licensed bar.  We’re still able to accommodate around 400 vehicles and the result is a unique event which has developed its own very special relaxed and friendly atmosphere.  Such is its popularity that we now have exhibitors bringing their vehicles from over much of England and South Wales\, and bookings for spaces are full some months in advance.  Some of our entries are individuals\, whilst we also have clubs taking their own stand spaces. The range of vehicles is something to behold.  There are a few rare examples from the early part of the 1900s\, lots of classics from the 50s to 70s or even a bit later.  There’s also a sprinkling of modern custom and supercars\, commercial vehicles\, scooters and motorbikes. \nThe show site is right at the heart of one of the most popular and busiest parts of Torbay and is always enjoyed by families on holiday as well as locals who make a point of visiting us every year. With so much to see and do\, it’s a great day out for all the family. \nWe can fit in almost 400 vehicles but the show’s popularity means it’s always over-subscribed. Entry Packs are available by clicking this link\, it will take you to the downloads page. \nWe do sometimes find that we have a few spare spaces on the day.  We can never guarantee this\, but if so then we will accept some late entries.  All exhibitors are given a rally programme and a small memento to show our appreciation.  \nThe cut-off age for exhibits is 1993 with the exception of cars in the Americans and Custom/Exotic classes\, and clubs.  All entries are accepted at the discretion of the organisers.  A minimum of 5 vehicles is needed for a club stand and we recommend block applications for this. \nFor safety reasons\, drivers must be on site before 10 am and not leave until the show closes after the prize giving around 4.30 pm. DESCRIPTION:We will have our semi-regular Kielder Picnic drive out on Sunday 23rd July.\nWe will meet at Hexham in the car park for the Wentworth Leisure Centre and Waitrose (NE46 3PJ)\, just off Alemouth Road\, at 10:00 for a 10:30 departure.The route will be supplied at the starting point. The run will then follow scenic roads to Kielder Water. At Kielder Water we will stop at one of the large car parks for a picnic. There are large lakeside grass areas so bring your own food and drinks\, and any equipment such as picnic blankets\, chairs etc. There is a restaurant at the lakeside which you can use instead – please make your own table arrangements and bookings directly with the restaurant.

DESCRIPTION:The annual Sherborne Classic and Supercar Sunday is just 3 weeks away (16 July) and we are on track for another bumper display. Last year we had 40 cars on our stand\, with 30 from Wessex and 10 from our South Wales colleagues . We are doing the same this year but I only have a few tickets available. \nBefore we advertise wider I want Wessex members to have first dibs. A ticket is £15 and gets you\, your car and occupants into the display field\, which is adjacent to the castle and it’s stunning grounds. There will be many other car clubs and individual entries covering most marques\, some trade stands and catering so all in all it makes for a great family day out. \nPlease contact me directly if you would like a ticket.
