DESCRIPTION:The names Region – Central Region!\nJoin us us for visit to the fantastic Nene Valley Railway on Sunday 16th June.\nWansford Station\, Stibbington PE8 6LR\nNene Valley Railway offers the chance to experience the thrill of riding a steam engine; learn about the railway’s history; and explore the picturesque surroundings of the Nene Valley area.\nThe railway itself has been used in many music videos\, TV and film productions including two James Bond films – Octopussy and Goldeneye.\nYour host can show you the the filming locations used!!\nThe locations used in the films still look the same today and the red carriage used in Octopussy (see main picture above) has recently been restored and is on display.\nWe will have a pre – agreed parking area to display our cars. At the moment I have agreement for 30 cars – I will need to know who plans to attend well in advance so we can plan the required space.\nPayment can be made to ride the train on the day (A discount will be available to members on the day). SUMMARY:New Forest Treasure Hunt
DESCRIPTION:We are holding a treasure hunt in the New Forest on Sunday 9th June starting at The Sir Walter Tyrrell Pub and finishing at The Bell Inn\, both in Brook\, Near Lyndhurst.  It will be a relaxed drive (not a race!!) with several stops to search for clues.  Please meet at the Sir Walter Tyrrell Pub at 2pm for the briefing (or earlier if you fancy Sunday lunch there).  The treasure hunt will start at 2.30pm and is expected to finish at The Bell Inn by about 5.30-6.00pm.  We will have a prize giving and group dinner at The Bell Inn from 6.00pm onwards. \nA briefing pack with the route\, clues and answer sheet will be provided but please have a pen or pencil available.  It will be important for each car to have a navigator so that there are no distractions for the driver.  Please be prepared to do some pairing so that there is a minimum of two people in each car. \nPlease register for this event with Julian Pickering (email: wessex@bmwcarclubgb.co.uk) as soon as possible but no later than Friday 7 June so that the briefing packs and dinner reservations can be finalised.  The Bell Inn have asked for food pre-ordering\, so I will send out a menu when you register.

The Black Horse Beamish is just a short distance off the A1 so is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. We usually have a good variety of Alpinas\, BMWs and Modern Minis – classics\, moderns\, daily drivers and a scattering of Ms. Non-BMWs are also OK! Look for the big group somewhere in the pub building\, or hanging around the cars down by the Car Barn on a sunny day. This meeting is open to members and non-members.

DESCRIPTION:BMW Live is a new regional event for 2024 which is taking place at Oulton Park Circuit on Saturday\, 1st June 2024. \nBMW Live will have Region display parking for North East\, Eastern\, Central West\, North West\, Cheshire & Staffs\, Central\, Scottish\, Cumbria\, Mid-Wales & Shropshire and North Wales Regions\, along with many other BMW\, Alpina and modern MINI car groups\, plus a general BMW\, Alpina and modern MINI display parking area. \nBMW Car Club racing will be taking place on the day\, as well as other 750 Motorsport racing\, and there will be a grid walk and a parade lap you can sign up to on the day. There will be a trader village\, kids fun fair and various food and beverage options available. Free camping is available for Friday and Saturday night. \nWe are also holding a pre-event circuit meet on the Friday night in the on-site Chequers café / bar. There will be food and beverages to purchase\, with a full bar available all evening. Get together with like-minded people and the motor racers in a friendly and inviting atmosphere. This way I can advise Jack of the number of attendees. \nA word of warning for those attending – don’t just put the postcode into your Satnav and expected it to direct you to the door. This is a rural area and the postcode therefore covers a large area. If you try this\, you will either turn off too early or sail on past. I did both the first time I went there\, so keep your eyes peeled for the correct turning on your left after going through Callington/Kelly Bray. Please be there for a 10:00 start. \nI have seen the results of his work on anything from brand new vehicles to ‘projects’ and the results are remarkable. \nA good source of advice in preparation for the show season.

DESCRIPTION:Our next monthly breakfast meeting will be on Sunday 12th May 2024. We meet from 10.00am to 11.30am at Black Horse Beamish\, Red Row\, Beamish\, Co. Durham\, DH9 0RW. Please be there for 10am prompt if you want to join us for breakfast at discounted club rates. The Black Horse Beamish is just a short distance off the A1 so is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. We usually have a good variety of Alpinas\, BMWs and Modern Minis – classics\, moderns\, daily drivers and a scattering of Ms. Non-BMWs are also OK! Look for the big group somewhere in the pub building\, or hanging around the cars down by the Car Barn on a sunny day. This meeting is open to members and non-members.

DESCRIPTION:We are attending Sports Cars In The Park again this year on Sunday 05 May. The show will be held at Newby Hall and is one of the largest meets in the area attracting a fabulous range of about 1400 exotic sports cars to admire\, with well over 100 BMWs. There is also the option to visit Newby Hall itself\, 25 acres of award winning\, an enchanting woodland walk and a miniature railway. Younger visitors will also enjoy the exciting adventure gardens. There will also be a number of related stalls and catering on the day. Display cars can arrive from 8:15 until 12:00. Tickets for driver and displaying car (£8:00) are available from the SCITP website\, with each extra occupant costing £8:00 extra with a discount for children. Display tickets are only sold in advance. To get your tickets go to www.sportscarsinthepark.co.uk\, login and then click on ‘Tickets’. Remember to select ‘BMW Car Club GB’ as part of the process\, or you may end up parked amongst Audis and Volkswagens. The club stand is open to members and non-members\, and all BMWs\, Modern Minis and Alpinas.
