SUMMARY:Wessex Weekend Tour4
DESCRIPTION:Wessex Weekend Tour 4 will take place on the weekend of 1-2 November 2025.  It will include an overnight stay at The Fernhill Hotel\, Charmouth (near Lyme Regis) and a group dinner on Saturday night.  See https://fernhill-hotel.co.uk.    Local guests are welcome to join the tour and group dinner without staying overnight at the hotel.  The room rates vary from £160 to £210 per room for 2 people including bed and breakfast.  The dinner is £40 per head.  We must fill all 10 rooms at the hotel.  A few extra rooms are available at a nearby B&B if required.  To allow the room bookings to be secured please make a commitment as soon as possible.  The agenda for the weekend will be as follows: \nSaturday 1st November\n10.00am:   Start of Tour – meet at Haynes Motor Museum\, Sparkford\, Nr. Yeovil BA22 7LH.\n10.00am – 1.00pm:   Enjoy the Motor Museum and have an early lunch in their Café 750.\n1.00pm – 2.30pm:    Scenic drive to Axminster with short stop at Chard Reservoir Local Nature Reserve.\n2.30pm – 3.30pm:    Visit Axminster Heritage Centre – history of carpet making at original factory with (hopefully) a weaving demonstration on an original carpet loom.\n3.30pm – 5.00pm:    Drive to Lyme Regis.  Stop in the town to see The Cobb \, the famous stone-built walled harbour. Explore the town at leisure.\n5.00pm – 5.15pm:    Drive to Fernhill Hotel\, Charmouth.\n7.00pm:                   Drinks and group dinner at Fernhill Hotel.  The dinner is open to tour guests not staying in the hotel. \nSunday 2nd November\n8.00am – 10.00am:  Group breakfast at Fernhill Hotel.\n10.00am                   Free day to explore the region at leisure.  Join up with friends and travel together. \nTo reserve a place on the tour\, with or without an overnight stay\, please contact Julian Pickering.

DESCRIPTION:Our next monthly breakfast meeting will be on Sunday 12th October 2025. We meet from 10.00am to 11.30am at Black Horse Beamish\, Red Row\, Beamish\, Co. Durham\, DH9 0RW. Please be there for 10am prompt if you want to join us for breakfast at discounted club rates. Please help us by clicking ‘going’ on the Facebook event so that we can pass on numbers to the pub. Arrive early if you want a good parking spot ! \nThe Black Horse Beamish is just a short distance off the A1 so is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. We usually have a good variety of Alpinas\, BMWs and Modern Minis – classics\, moderns\, daily drivers and a scattering of Ms. Non-BMWs are also OK! Look for the big group somewhere in the pub building\, or hanging around the cars down by the Car Barn on a sunny day. This meeting is open to members and non-members.
