SUMMARY:Wessex Weekend Tour4
DESCRIPTION:Wessex Weekend Tour 4 will take place on the weekend of 1-2 November 2025.  It will include an overnight stay at The Fernhill Hotel\, Charmouth (near Lyme Regis) and a group dinner on Saturday night.  See https://fernhill-hotel.co.uk.    Local guests are welcome to join the tour and group dinner without staying overnight at the hotel.  The room rates vary from £160 to £210 per room for 2 people including bed and breakfast.  The dinner is £40 per head.  We must fill all 10 rooms at the hotel.  A few extra rooms are available at a nearby B&B if required.  To allow the room bookings to be secured please make a commitment as soon as possible.  The agenda for the weekend will be as follows: \nSaturday 1st November\n10.00am:   Start of Tour – meet at Haynes Motor Museum\, Sparkford\, Nr. Yeovil BA22 7LH.\n10.00am – 1.00pm:   Enjoy the Motor Museum and have an early lunch in their Café 750.\n1.00pm – 2.30pm:    Scenic drive to Axminster with short stop at Chard Reservoir Local Nature Reserve.\n2.30pm – 3.30pm:    Visit Axminster Heritage Centre – history of carpet making at original factory with (hopefully) a weaving demonstration on an original carpet loom.\n3.30pm – 5.00pm:    Drive to Lyme Regis.  Stop in the town to see The Cobb \, the famous stone-built walled harbour. Explore the town at leisure.\n5.00pm – 5.15pm:    Drive to Fernhill Hotel\, Charmouth.\n7.00pm:                   Drinks and group dinner at Fernhill Hotel.  The dinner is open to tour guests not staying in the hotel. \nSunday 2nd November\n8.00am – 10.00am:  Group breakfast at Fernhill Hotel.\n10.00am                   Free day to explore the region at leisure.  Join up with friends and travel together. \nTo reserve a place on the tour\, with or without an overnight stay\, please contact Julian Pickering.

SUMMARY:Winchester Auto Barn
DESCRIPTION:Wessex members drive-out/meet-up for lunch at Winchester Auto Barn (WAB)\, near Sutton Scotney on Saturday 8th November 2025.  WAB have recently had major building work completed and have added a restaurant/café/bar\, as well as a classic car showroom alongside their servicing and repair business. and we have organised for a club lunch there on the date above.  They will reserve us a parking area in front of the showroom and you can get to view the cars in their showroom\, have a drink at the bar and sit down for a delicious lunch.  If you are interested in attending\, please forward your name/s to Debbie Blythe via email or WhatsApp on dblyth55@btinternet.com or 07838 385242.  The venue is booked from midday but you can arrive from 11am if you wish\, with lunch at 12.30pm.  Food needs to be pre-ordered so please look at the attached menu via the link below and send your food orders to Debbie by 24th October\, who will also be collecting payment. \nWAB Group Menu 15+
