DESCRIPTION:Our next monthly breakfast meeting will be on Sunday 11th May 2025. We meet from 10.00am to 11.30am at Black Horse Beamish\, Red Row\, Beamish\, Co. Durham\, DH9 0RW. Please be there for 10am prompt if you want to join us for breakfast at discounted club rates. Please help us by clicking ‘going’ on the Facebook event so that we can pass on numbers to the pub. Arrive early if you want a good parking spot ! \nThe Black Horse Beamish is just a short distance off the A1 so is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. We usually have a good variety of Alpinas\, BMWs and Modern Minis – classics\, moderns\, daily drivers and a scattering of Ms. Non-BMWs are also OK! Look for the big group somewhere in the pub building\, or hanging around the cars down by the Car Barn on a sunny day. This meeting is open to members and non-members.

DESCRIPTION:What better way to spend a May Bank Holiday Monday than at our annual trip to the Notts Classic Car and Motorcycle Show at Thoresby Park. This is one of our most favourite events and is a staple on our calendar and is always very well attended. \nThere are 100’s of cars on display\, there are many traders\, and there is Thoresby Park to visit with its cafe\, shops\, and museum. This is a great day out for all the family. \nThe event is for cars registered 2009 and older\, however\, as we are a club display we can have up to 25% of our display cars being newer cars\, so if you have a car newer than 2009 and and you would like to join us\, please contact us on eastern@bmwcarclubgb.co.uk or message us on Facebook and we can put you on our list. \nTickets are booked on the event website. SUMMARY:BMWs at Spring SCITP\, 04 May 2025
DESCRIPTION:We are attending Sports Cars In The Park again this year on Sunday 04 May. The show will be held at Newby Hall and is one of the largest meets in the area attracting a fabulous range of about 1400 exotic sports cars to admire\, with well over 100 BMWs. There is also the option to visit Newby Hall itself\, 25 acres of award winning\, an enchanting woodland walk and a miniature railway. Younger visitors will also enjoy the exciting adventure gardens. There will also be a number of related stalls and catering on the day. Display cars can arrive from 7:00 until 12:00. Tickets for driver and displaying car are purchased from the SCITP website\, with each additional occupant costing extra with a discount for children. Display tickets are only sold in advance. To get your tickets go to www.sportscarsinthepark.co.uk\, login and then click on ‘Tickets’. Remember to select ‘BMW Car Club GB’ as part of the process\, or you may end up parked amongst Audis and Volkswagens. The club stand is open to members and non-members\, and to all BMWs\, Modern Minis and Alpinas.

DESCRIPTION:BMW Car Club Eastern Region is excited to announce this new event for 2025. We have been granted special permission by the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre owners to park our pride and joy’s inside the museum near the hangar for all to see. \nWe have been given a reduced entry rate of £10.00 per person (not car) which we have been asked to collect in advance of the visit\, this is a request from the venue for a one off group booking. Please mark as going so we can get an idea of numbers in advance. If you would like to attended please message Chris Lake directly on Facebook to arrange payment or email eastern@bmwcarclubgb.co.uk with your contact details so that we can contact you to arrange payment. \nThe venue opening times are 09:30 – 16:00 however we would suggest we aim to meet there for 09:00 so we can get inside and parked up before the general public arrive. We know you all love a good breakfast so fear not there is a great on site café serving hot food and drink all day. \nThe reason for us creating this event is down to long time member Andrew Everett who kindly donated his uncles Distinguished Flying Cross to the Heritage Centre. When we attend this event on the 3rd of May 2025 it will be the 80th anniversary of Andrew’s uncles tragic death during the war. Here are a few words from Andrew about his Uncle……….. \nPilot Officer Robert Catterall DFC was the last allied airman killed in action in Europe in WW2. Born in Newton Le Willows\, Lancashire\, he joined the RAF as a fitter but quickly learned to fly. By 1941 he was flying bombers – mainly Wellingtons and Short Stirlings and took part in many raids over Germany and occupied France. \nBy 1944 he had transferred to Mosquitoes for precision bombing and pathfinding at 169 Squadron at Great Massingham\, Norfolk. Awarded the DFC in 1944\, there was no time to actually be presented with the medal. As the war drew to a close in April 1945\, Robert and his co pilot Flight Sergeant Donald Beadle of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve were demobilised and letters sent home informing their families that their war was over. \nHowever\, there was one more job to do\, namely destroying a build up of German aircraft at Jaegel airfield near Kiel. There were fears that an element of the Luftwaffe might fly to Norway and continue the war from there. Volunteers were needed to napalm the planes and both Robert and Donald did. Six Mosquitoes flew out  on May 3rd 1945 and five came back. Their aircraft\, MM680\, was hit by anti aircraft fire and crashed. They were given a temporary grave by the Germans\, and reburied later in the War cemetery in Kiel. \nRobert’s parents Robert Snr and Adeline Catterall were invited to Buckingham Palace in 1946 where they were presented with Robert’s DFC by King George VI. \nWe really hope you can come to this event and make it as big and the best it can be. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The annual East meets West event is back for 2025. Members from the Eastern and North West regions annual get together at The Motorist. \nThe Motorist is a petrol heads delight and is expanding all the time\, now with the Arnarge restaurant\, cafe\, shop\, workshops\, and much more. DESCRIPTION:A double whammy of an Event !\nThe owners of the Barrel House Brewery in Kendal have kindly offered us a tour of their Brewery\, so we will travel to the Brewery for a guided tour and complimentary light refreshments before heading out to the Lakeland Motor Museum expecting to arrive there about 12:00 noon to 1pm for the museum visit which takes about 2 hrs\nNormal entry fees apply for the Museum but we are hoping to have segregated parking for the group on the site if possible\nWe will meet at Scotch Corner Services by the Travel Lodge at 9:00am where you can grab a quick coffee or breakfast before departure at 9:30 for Kendal (about an hour’s drive) and the Brewery. There is no cost for the Brewery Tour or food however we would ask that members make a suitable donation to their supported local charity which is BloodBikes !\nPlaces are limited to 20 cars so please let us know if you are coming by indicating this on the event on the North East Region Facebook page.

SUMMARY:Clay Pigeon Shooting
DESCRIPTION:Wessex Region are holding a clay pigeon shooting experience on Friday 14th March starting at 10am.  The venue is the Purbeck Shooting School near Wareham.  The cost is £45 per person for 25 clays with a £20 non-refundable deposit payable as soon as possible.  Neither previous experience nor a shotgun licence is required.  Full instruction will be provided by professional instructors.  Participants will be divided into smaller groups\, each with a dedicated instructor. \nPlease reserve a place by contacting Julian Pickering.  You will then have to contact the Purbeck Shooting School directly to pay your £20 deposit.

DESCRIPTION:This event had to be postponed unfortunately owing to bad weather on Sunday 8th December.  Wessex Region has been invited to an open morning at Group 1 Hindhead BMW on the revised date of Sunday 9th March starting at 10am.  Bacon rolls and coffee will be provided and we will be given a tour of the garage facilities (formerly Barons).  It should be possible to test drive some of their demonstrator fleet of cars.  If you would like to attend this event please email confirmation to Julian Pickering (wessex@bmwcarclubgb.co.uk). \nNumbers will be limited but priority will be given to members who booked to attend on the original event date.

On March 8th\, the social day is for all things German and Eastern Region has reserved a number of parking spaces for BMW Car Club members. \nThe socials start from 9am and end at 6pm. Arrive early to make sure you grab one of our reserved parking spaces\, otherwise you will be parked in general parking. In order to be able to park in the reserved parking\, you should be clearly displaying a BMW Car Club sticker in your window or have a copy Straight Six on the dash so that we can make sure only club members are parked in our reserved area. \nThe Eastern Region team will be around from 9am until midday.

DESCRIPTION:We have arranged a visit to BMWCCGB’s partner\, The Wheel Specialist\, at Westerhope Newcastle\, NE5 1BF\, on Sunday 26th January starting at 10:00am. The visit is expected to last a couple of hours. The team will take us through the processes involved in wheel repair and refurbishment\, including shot blasting\, preparation\, and diamond cutting.Due to the size of the venue we need to limit numbers to a maximum of 25 participants\, so if you are going\, please confirm as GOING and add a comment on the DISCUSSION tab to the event on the North East Region Facebook group.

SUMMARY:North East Region Breakfast Meet
DESCRIPTION:Our next monthly breakfast meeting will be on Sunday 12th January 2025. We meet from 10.00am to 11.30am at Black Horse Beamish\, Red Row\, Beamish\, Co. Durham\, DH9 0RW. Please be there for 10am prompt if you want to join us for breakfast at discounted club rates. Please help us by clicking ‘going’ on the Facebook event so that we can pass on numbers to the pub. \nThe Black Horse Beamish is just a short distance off the A1 so is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. We usually have a good variety of Alpinas\, BMWs and Modern Minis – classics\, moderns\, daily drivers and a scattering of Ms. Non-BMWs are also OK! Look for the big group somewhere in the pub building\, or hanging around the cars down by the Car Barn on a sunny day. This meeting is open to members and non-members.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Eastern Region for a monthly evening get together at The British Oak\, Mosborough\, Sheffield S20 5AY from 6.30pm to 10pm. \nThe evening meet happens on the second Thursday of every month. \nThe British Oak has a wide range of drinks on offer along with a menu full of Great British Classics. \nWe have our own reserved area within the pub but on those warm evenings you can find us outside in the large and inviting beer garden. \nThe British Oak has two sizeable car parks available and we try to park in the larger car park at the rear of the pub. \nCome along and join us for some friendly conversation and some obligatory tyre kicking (weather permitting). Don’t be shy\, come and say Hi !!! \n
