There will be over a hundred cars exhibited in the city centre – locations include Palace Green\, Durham Market Place\, Millennium Place and Framwellgate Bridge. It’s a great day out in the heart of Durham – with a small street food market in the Market Place\, if you fancy refreshments. You need to have pre-registered with Greg (xseries@bmwcarclubgb.co.uk) to display your car on the BMW Car Club stand\, however it will still be a good day out with some great classic BMWs on show so come over and visit us.

SUMMARY:BMWs at Smiles for Miles
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday 26th August 2023 we will help raise vital funds for the JPC Community Farm by joining Smiles for Miles at Croft Race Circuit. After a successful inaugural year in 2022\, the event is shaping up to be one of the premier automotive events in the North East and North Yorkshire. The event features an impressive range of static car displays\, showcasing some of the worlds most sought-after and high-performance vehicles. Whether you’re a petrolhead or someone who loves beautiful cars\, Smiles for Miles is a great family day out which will help create much-needed funding for a fantastic charity\, JPC Community Farm\, which supports Children and Adults with Special Needs across the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire Area. \nDisplay cars and drivers get free access rather than the usual £15 entry fee – you just need to be on my list. Extra passengers have to buy tickets on the event website at £7:50. Display cars must be on site by 8:30 and stay until 16:30. If you want to join the club stand please email your name\, car and registration number to northeast@bmwcarclubgb.co.uk.

DESCRIPTION:We will have our semi-regular Kielder Picnic drive out on Sunday 23rd July.\nWe will meet at Hexham in the car park for the Wentworth Leisure Centre and Waitrose (NE46 3PJ)\, just off Alemouth Road\, at 10:00 for a 10:30 departure.The route will be supplied at the starting point. The run will then follow scenic roads to Kielder Water. At Kielder Water we will stop at one of the large car parks for a picnic. There are large lakeside grass areas so bring your own food and drinks\, and any equipment such as picnic blankets\, chairs etc. There is a restaurant at the lakeside which you can use instead – please make your own table arrangements and bookings directly with the restaurant.

DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday May 28th for a visit to the Killhope Lead Mining Museum. After a leisurely drive through Weardale we will aim to arrive at the Museum for 11:30 – 12 noon where we will have a light lunch in the café then proceed to our group guided tour of the Museum which has been booked for approximately 1pm-1:30pm\nFor those who wish to experience life as a lead miner there is an optional underground tour included.\nWe will meet at the Linzford Garden Centre on the A694 just south west of Newcastle at 9:45-10:00 am for a 10:15 departure\nEntry to the museum is free and there is a café on site or you can bring a picnic. Underground groups are limited to 12-14 people so I need to know who wants to go underground and also it will be useful to know who would like to have lunch at the café. Those wishing to go on the underground tour must bring your own full length wellies!! DESCRIPTION:We are attending Sports Cars In The Park at Newby Hall again this year on Sunday 07 May. The show will be held at Newby Hall and is one of the larger meets in the area attracting a fabulous range of about 1000 exotic sports cars to admire. There is also the option to visit Newby Hall itself\, 25 acres of award winning\, an enchanting woodland walk and a miniature railway. Younger visitors will also enjoy the exciting adventure gardens. There will also be a number of related stalls and catering on the day. Display cars can arrive from 8:15 until 12:00. Tickets for driver and displaying car (£8:00) are available from the SCITP website\, with each extra occupant costing £8:00) extra. Display tickets are only sold in advance. To get your tickets go to www.sportscarsinthepark.co.uk\, login and then click on ‘Tickets’. Remember to select ‘BMW Car Club GB’ as part of the process\, or you may end up parked amongst Audis and Volkswagens.

SUMMARY:When the Boat Comes in - Fish & Chip Run
DESCRIPTION:When does the boat come in? I hear you ask. Well the answer to that question is Sunday 26th March on our When the boat comes in fish and chip run. What better way to celebrate the start of British summer time than to enjoy the scenic drive around some of the best the North Yorks coast has to offer.\nWe will meet at the Kirkleatham museum car park at 10am before setting off for Staithes via Redcar\, Marske\, Saltburn\, Loftus and Easington.\nUpon arriving at Staithes we will park in the Bank Top Car Park (Space permitting). You will then have ample time to explore at your leisure and enjoy fish and chips or any other dish you desire.\nWe will aim to meet up and leave Staithes for 1.30pm but please don’t rush if you want to spend more time there.\nWe will then set off back via a more inland route taking in Ellerby before turning back to head over the tops via Scaling reservoir (stop here for photo opportunity). Upon leaving Scaling you are free to head off in your own direction either heading towards Whitby or back on the A171 towards Guisborough. The choice is yours.\nWe hope to see you for what is set to be an enjoyable day out.

DESCRIPTION:We will hold another Treasure Hunt on Sunday 27th November\, themed around Lighthouses. Meet at the Harbour Drive North Car Park\, River Drive\, NE33 1LH at 10:00. You will need a pen and a GPS navigator. Instructions\, clues and questions will be supplied at the starting point. The route will take you about 2½ hours\, and is designed to take us all to a suitable spot for a lunch meet at the end of the hunt. Scoring will take place later\, with winners announced on the following Monday. Essential points will be earned by sharing entertaining and creative photos along the way. DESCRIPTION:Sunday 25 September – NECPWA End of Season Show at Beamish Museum. We will have a club stand again this year at this great show that offers both a great variety of cars and the whole of the Beamish Museum to enjoy. You will need a NECPWA Tyneside Rally Season Ticket  (http://necpwanorth.org/download.php?view.15). Cost is £5 per car (including driver and one passenger). This is significantly cheaper than the usual Beamish Museum entry charges. Unfortunately due to NECPWA and Beamish rules this is only open to pre September 2000 cars. On the day we will meet in the Black Horse Beamish car park at 9:30am before driving over to the show at 10:00am.

DESCRIPTION:The BMW Car Club will again be attending the resurrected Great North Classic Car Show at the Aston Workshop/Black Horse Beamish on Sunday 11 September\, organised by the Aston Workshop\, Red Row\, Beamish\, Co. Durham\, DH9 0RW.  The 2022 show is going to be even bigger & better than ever\, with over 450 cars & motorcycles on display\, and more exhibitors than before. I have 20 places for the BMW Car Club stand. I am hoping for an interesting and impressive selection of BMWs and due to the nature of the show I am looking for classic BMWs. Exhibitors must be on site from 10am until 4pm as a minimum\, and after 4pm there will be a new after-show BBQ and live music experience to bring the day to a close.
