SUMMARY:River Run
DESCRIPTION:Midnight and Fiona would like to take you for a run up the River Coquet\, starting at the sea (Amble) and heading inland to near the source at Alwitton. The run will see you follow the river through villages like\, Felton\, Rothbury and Harbottle and finally reaching Clennell Hall NE65 7BG\, where a lovely Sunday lunch will be provided at £20 for three courses. We will be meeting at the Amble Inn\, NE65 OFF at 10 am for a 10:15 departure. Please note a few things\, route will depend on road closures\, some roads are off the beaten track\, we may be stopping in Rothbury for photos/regroup and finally\, four legged friends and children are welcome!

DESCRIPTION:Sunday 30th June will see us attending the Classics at the Castle where we have secured a club stand for between 10-15 cars initially.\nDisplay cars to arrive between 8-10am with the Best Club stand being awarded around 3pm.\nNo age restriction on cars.\nTickets available on Raby Castle website at £7.50. DESCRIPTION:BMW Live is a new regional event for 2024 which is taking place at Oulton Park Circuit on Saturday\, 1st June 2024. \nBMW Live will have Region display parking for North East\, Eastern\, Central West\, North West\, Cheshire & Staffs\, Central\, Scottish\, Cumbria\, Mid-Wales & Shropshire and North Wales Regions\, along with many other BMW\, Alpina and modern MINI car groups\, plus a general BMW\, Alpina and modern MINI display parking area. \nBMW Car Club racing will be taking place on the day\, as well as other 750 Motorsport racing\, and there will be a grid walk and a parade lap you can sign up to on the day. There will be a trader village\, kids fun fair and various food and beverage options available. Free camping is available for Friday and Saturday night. \nWe are also holding a pre-event circuit meet on the Friday night in the on-site Chequers café / bar. There will be food and beverages to purchase\, with a full bar available all evening. Get together with like-minded people and the motor racers in a friendly and inviting atmosphere. DESCRIPTION:We are attending Sports Cars In The Park again this year on Sunday 05 May. The show will be held at Newby Hall and is one of the largest meets in the area attracting a fabulous range of about 1400 exotic sports cars to admire\, with well over 100 BMWs. There is also the option to visit Newby Hall itself\, 25 acres of award winning\, an enchanting woodland walk and a miniature railway. Younger visitors will also enjoy the exciting adventure gardens. There will also be a number of related stalls and catering on the day. Display cars can arrive from 8:15 until 12:00. Tickets for driver and displaying car (£8:00) are available from the SCITP website\, with each extra occupant costing £8:00 extra with a discount for children. Display tickets are only sold in advance. To get your tickets go to www.sportscarsinthepark.co.uk\, login and then click on ‘Tickets’. Remember to select ‘BMW Car Club GB’ as part of the process\, or you may end up parked amongst Audis and Volkswagens. The club stand is open to members and non-members\, and all BMWs\, Modern Minis and Alpinas.

DESCRIPTION:Sunday 24th March 10:00am will be our first run of the year.\nOur route starts at Scotch Corner Southbound at the Travelodge hotel car park. (Depart 10:00am prompt) and takes us to England’s highest pub\, The Tan Hill Inn for a brief tea and cakes stop.\nWe then have a couple of viewpoints to take in at the Buttertubs Pass and Ribblehead Viaduct before stopping for a light lunch at the Wensleydale Creamery café. Reservations can not be made for the café. The café has plenty of seating\, but it can get busy so you may wish to take a picnic. (An alternative would be the café at Aysgarth Falls) Leaving the creamery we head for home\, where you may wish to visit the magnificent Aysgarth falls on your way. DESCRIPTION:In September it is planned to hold a regional “Scatter Hunt”. and I need to gauge interest before going too deep with the implementation\nA combination of our well like treasure hunt and the Navigation Scatter Rallies held back in the 90’s. This is new style event tailored to cope with modern technology and take advantage of our breathtaking county\nThe basic task is to solve a series of clues provided prior to the day of the event which will allow you to plot points on a map of Northumberland. You then need to plan a route to visit these clue points and find the answers\nBecause of the scale of the county it will be impossible to visit every clue site in a day (unless you are really dedicated) so you must select those which you can solve and think will obtain the most points\nThe event is ideally suited to teams of members as this will increase the clue solving brain power and allow people to share a car and fuel and even the driving if required.\nThis gives everyone the opportunity to have fun and also see the scenery\nA Trophy will be awarded for the team with the most points and awards will be added accordingly for various categories\nThe hard core competitors amongst you may wish to set off bright and early and do a full day of treasure hunting\, but the plan is to offer less arduous routes for those wishing to do just half a day .\nIn theory it will even be possible to do the whole thing from the comfort of your lounge although you won’t get points for taking photos at the locations\nThe event will be open to all Club Members so teams from other regions are welcome to apply\nIn order to finalise the plans and start making up the Scatter Hunt instruction packs. After a successful inaugural year in 2022\, the event is shaping up to be one of the premier automotive events in the North East and North Yorkshire. The event features an impressive range of static car displays\, showcasing some of the worlds most sought-after and high-performance vehicles. Whether you’re a petrolhead or someone who loves beautiful cars\, Smiles for Miles is a great family day out which will help create much-needed funding for a fantastic charity\, JPC Community Farm\, which supports Children and Adults with Special Needs across the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire Area. \nDisplay cars and drivers get free access rather than the usual £15 entry fee – you just need to be on my list. Extra passengers have to buy tickets on the event website at £7:50. Display cars must be on site by 8:30 and stay until 16:30. DESCRIPTION:We will have our semi-regular Kielder Picnic drive out on Sunday 23rd July.\nWe will meet at Hexham in the car park for the Wentworth Leisure Centre and Waitrose (NE46 3PJ)\, just off Alemouth Road\, at 10:00 for a 10:30 departure.The route will be supplied at the starting point. The run will then follow scenic roads to Kielder Water. At Kielder Water we will stop at one of the large car parks for a picnic. There are large lakeside grass areas so bring your own food and drinks\, and any equipment such as picnic blankets\, chairs etc. There is a restaurant at the lakeside which you can use instead – please make your own table arrangements and bookings directly with the restaurant.
