DESCRIPTION:This is an events diary for the 2024 season. It will act as a single list of all the events that the Devon Region of the BMW Car Club GB will be organising / attending as a club along with events where we will not be attending as a club but may be of interest to members. The latter events will be noted accordingly and it will be for individual members to make the booking arrangements. Dates and details will be updated as they are confirmed by the organisers\, along with being given their own dedicated event on the Events page if needed. \nPlease note that where events are organised by third parties i.e. not the BMW Car Club GB or one of its Regions\, the information provided below is reproduced in good faith from those external sources. Where we are not attending as a club\, it is up to those interested in attending to confirm that the event(s) are going ahead as shown. \nIf there are other shows/events that may be of interest to members\, please email me the details at devon@bmwcarclubgb.co.uk \nNOVEMBER \n28th (Thursday) Pub meet and AGM. 19:00 for 19:30 at the Swans Nest\, Station Road\, Exminster\, EX6 8DZ. UPDATED 30/10/24. The focus of this evening will be to hold the Region AGM. All members are welcome and and agenda has been published. Please note that should there be any matters that require a vote\, only paid-up members will be eligible to do so. \n30th (Saturday) BMW Day. Re:Fuel\, Five Bridges\, Willand\, Cullompton. Individual entry but no entry fee! \nDECEMBER \nNo pub meet this month but our annual Festive Meal\, at the Passage House Inn\, Kingsteignton on Thursday 12th December 18:45 for 19:30. \nBlack Tie is optional\, but encouraged. SUMMARY:Wessex Weekend Tour 3
DESCRIPTION:There have been several requests for Wessex Weekend Tour 3 to be located on the Isle of Wight.  The Mayfair Hotel in Shanklin on the East of the island has been pre-booked\, which is in a prime location with lovely sea views.  Double/twin rooms cost £80 for the night including full English breakfasts. Single rooms are available (please request through me).  A 3-course dinner will be provided on Saturday evening at an additional cost of £20 per person.  I have applied to the club for a contribution towards these costs\, consistent with the new policy agreed at the AGM\, and I am awaiting a response. Please note that to take advantage of this BMWCC discounted fare for the Return\, you must sail on Sunday or you will be charged the full fare for the Return sailing.\nFrom here just follow the website links to the payment section.  You will be required to enter your car registration number.  Whether you wish to take up any of Red Funnel’s “extras”\, including insurance for non-sailing\, is up to you. \nA programme for the weekend will be issued soon. We will have an organised drive on Saturday\, taking in major towns and visitor attractions on the island\, and on Sunday you will be free to explore on your own or team up with friends.  If you would like to join the Tour please do not delay booking. The Isle of Wight is very popular all year around and the ferries and hotels book up well in advance. I am able to hold a good number of rooms at the hotel just now but I cannot influence ferry bookings. The hotel are not asking for a deposit but they need a commitment.  Please contact me with your room and dinner choices with details of any allergies as soon as possible. However\, booking the ferry is more urgent.
